What to do if you find a bug in Outcast – Second Contact

Outcast – Second Contact is an HD remake of the original 1999 Outcast game, which is finally out. And, of course, there were a number of mistakes in the game. This time developers actively communicate with users in the Steam forum thread devoted to this game and described the list of actions that you need to make if you encounter an error in the game.

If you encounter a bug:

  • Make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements
    • OS: Windows 7 64bits or higher
    • Processor: 4th Gen Intel® Core ™ i5 Processors / AMD FX® 8300
    • Memory: 6 GB RAM
    • Graphics Card: GeForce GTX670 / AMD Radeon® 7950
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Disk space: 15 GB
    • Sound card: Yes
  • Check installation integrity:
    • Right click on the game in your Steam games library
    • Select “Properties”
    • Go to the “LOCAL FILES” tab
    • Click “VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE”

If the game cache integrity check doesn’t solve your problem:

Please reply to this thread with the following details (providing as many details as you can):

  • Brief description of the bug: Please share as many details as you can, what you were doing when it occured, where it occured ingame and supporting screenshots (hosted to a website like https://imgur.com/)
  • DirectX diagnostic file:
    • Press the Windows + R key
    • Type dxdiag in the search box and click on OK
    • When DxDiag opens, check to see if there’s a button that says Run 64-bit DxDiag – if there is click it
    • Click Save All Information and save the file to your desktop (make sure it’s saving as a text file)
    • Copy and paste the text and share us your pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/

It is worth paying tribute to the developers of the game for the implementation of feedback from the players. If you encounter certain errors, we advise you to follow these instructions. It’s in your power to make the game better.
