Can you play Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC without Internet?

The PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is closely connected to the Rockstar Games Launcher. When launching the game, the Rockstar launcher not only synchronizes the player’s data, but also checks if a copy of the game was legally purchased or not. The first and second, of course, requires Internet access. And it does this literally every time you start RDR2.

Running Red Dead Redemption 2 in Offline Mode

If the player has no internet access, RGL is launched in the offline mode, from which the aforementioned operations are impossible.

It doesn’t matter if your saves aren’t uploaded to the cloud – whatever, I’ll live with it.

Of course, there’s nothing terrible about it… Except you can’t run RDR2 from the offline mode of RGL. If you try to do that, you get the following window:

And in simple terms, you can’t run RDR2 in offline mode unless you first activate the “Remember me” option – and you have to do this every time. You’ve lost the Internet connection? Then you can say goodbye to the Wild West until it returns.

Is there really nothing you can do? Unfortunately, there isn’t. At least there are no official solutions. You either prepare for the Internet loss in advance, or you can’t access Red Dead Redemption 2 at all. Frankly speaking, the most stupid decision on Rockstar’s part. True, it’s aimed at protecting the licensed content, but it’s just way too much.

Now we turn to you, dear readers! It’s quite possible that we’ve overlooked something. If you know the ways to start and play Red Dead Redemption 2 without the Internet (i.e. offline, in autonomous mode), please share them below in the comments.
