Sons Of The Forest: Save Files Location, How to Transfer Save Data
Here’s the trouble: Sons of the Forest allows you to play in co-op with friends, but the save files remain only with the host. That’s right, the new creation of Endnight Games has no dedicated servers, and therefore you always need to host a server for co-op. It turns out if some players want to continue without a host, it’s kinda impossible for them…
Transferring Sons Of The Forest Save Files
Or is it possible? You see, no one said that basic save transfer from one player to another doesn’t work. Do the host and other players have the same progress on the server? Then why not share the host’s saves with other players so they can continue to fight bloodthirsty cannibals on their computer.
Here’s what you need to do to do this:
- open System Explorer;
- go to C:\Users\[PROFILE_Name]\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves
- copy the Saves folder and send it to your friend;
- ask your friend to start the game, save and quit;
- now ask your friend to paste the transferred files into the above path with the replacements.
The save transfer is complete. That’s right, it’s that simple. Of course, we wish Sons Of The Forest had dedicated servers, but at this point you’ll have to do that kind of manipulation.
