The famous Unreal Engine 4 demo has been ported to UE5
Enthusiasts have gone so far with pulling everything and everything on the Unreal Engine 5 that they rendered on it the very same Unreal Engine 4 trailer with lava flows and dynamic particles.
And why not? A certain Dylan Browne decided to improve Elemental Demo, representing the power of the Unreal Engine 4, by adding the Lumen and Nanite systems to it. As a result, of course, the quality of lighting in the video increased – which, however, does not always play into the hands of the artistic component. However, now we can see alive shadows on the walls and a volumetric fog which was absent in the original version.
The original video can be viewed at this link. It seems that in some moments it even looks better, but you should keep in mind that all the light in it was set manually, while in the work of the enthusiast the lighting is rendered in real time using new technology. By the way, it’s been more than 10 years since the video was released – it was published in June 2012. How time flies!
