Error d3dx9_40.dll When Launching Games on Windows

A d3dx9_40.dll error popped up while I was launching one of the games on my PC. The error appears only with one game at the moment, but it seems to me that it won’t stop there. It started after I reinstalled Windows. I had 10 before, now I have Windows 11. What is the problem? And how to fix it?

Solution

The d3dx9_40.dll error is what it means: you are missing a specified library on your PC. To have it in your system, you just need to install the DirectX. Fortunately, there is a web installer which will do everything for you. After updating DirectX the error with d3dx9_40.dll file is guaranteed to disappear.
