How to fix error 0xa00f429f when connecting a webcam?

Error code 0xa00f429f appears every time I want to launch my webcam into Zoom. I have a Logitech 930e webcam. I have already tried the following, it did not help me, although others wrote about the positive effect of such procedures:

  • switching to another account – did not help;
  • reinstall Windows Camera via command line;
  • update, reinstall webcam drivers.

Is there anything else I can do?

Decision

Hello! I found out that most users with the error “Can’t start the camera. 0xA00F429F (0x887A0004)” Frame Server Mode technology issue. After one of the Windows updates, this protection appeared, which blocks access to the camera. The good news is that the restriction can be disabled through the registry.

Launch the registry editor (type regedit in the Run box) and follow the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform. On 64-bit systems follow this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform. We are interested in the EnableFrameServerMode parameter (if it is not there, just create it), you need to set the value to 0 for it. Everything should work.
