How to Fix ‘Msteams.exe Bad image’?

My Windows 11 starts up with the Msteams.exe Bad image error. After doing a few searches, it became clear that Microsoft Teams is to blame. I have no idea what this thing is, I’ve never used it. Probably something for the office. Anyway, how can I make it go away? What should I do to make this error disappear?

Solution

The msteams.exe Bad image error is indeed caused by an improperly working Microsoft Teams app. The most basic fix for the error is to completely deactivate Microsoft Teams. Considering that you are not using it at all, it is not a great loss.

  • Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open the Task Manager;
  • click the Autorun tab;
  • click Microsoft Teams and select Disable;
  • close all the windows and restart your PC.

You will immediately know if msteams.exe Bad image error is gone or not.
