Question on the 10 gold bars promo from securing your RDO acccount

Did this and created a character/went online for first time. But no gold bars in the account balance. Is that because I’m still in the tutorial? This is the first mission where you’re supposed to work with an NPC  to learn how to steal horses.

So once this tutorial is over, do you get the gold bars from logging into RGSC (not the game) when you go online?

Also can other players PvP/grief your n00b char if they’re still trying to complete the tutorial?

Is there any way to store your cash in the bank before doing this tutorial? Don’t want to lose any money (or gold bars) to PvP or griefers.  Also unable to setup camp and access crafting menus.
