I got the message ‘There Was A Problem Parsing the Package’ when I tried to install a modded version of Minecraft via an APK file to my phone. It’s running on Android 10. I’ve never installed apps through APK before – only via Google Play. What’s the problem?

The message ‘There Was A Problem Parsing the Package’ can appear for several reasons, but most often it is caused by the fact that the option to install applications from unknown sources is not activated on your device.

To activate this option:

• open phone Settings;
• go to Apps & notifications;
• select the browser through which you downloaded the APK;
• go to the bottom and select Install unknown apps;
• set the Allow from this source slider to On;
• reload the APK file and try to install it again.

Now the message ‘There Was A Problem Parsing the Package’ should not appear.
