(FIXED) Xbox ‘This location isn’t set up for installing games’ Error
The message ‘This location isn’t set up for installing games’ popped up in the Xbox app. It appears when you select a folder to install the game. What does this even mean? What do they mean it’s not set up? Do I have to do some extra setup in Xbox or what? Please help!
Solution
To get rid of the ‘This location isn’t set up for installing games’ message in the Xbox app, you will need to reinstall Microsoft game services.
- Press WIN+S and type PowerShell;
- click RMB on the found result and select Run as administrator;
- type get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers and press ENTER;
- now type the command start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN and press ENTER;
- install the Game Services from the Microsoft Store;
- restart your PC.
That’s it, the message ‘This location isn’t set up for installing games’ should have disappeared from the Xbox app.
